Firm Profile

Batson, Nolan, Pearson, Miller & Joiner, formerly known as Daniel, Harvill, Batson & Nolan, was established in 1859.  Batson Nolan is a general services law firm, and it has been a continuous part of the business and legal community in Clarksville.  Much of the downtown community, including the courthouse, and the firm's office were destroyed by a tornado on January 22, 1999.  The firm relocated in temporary facilities and rebuilt on the original site directly across from the Clarksville, Montgomery County Court Complex.  The Firm opened its 24,000 square foot facility in January 2003, and established an office in downtown Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee in 2004.  Our Springfield office is continuously staffed by support staff and attorneys, and is seamlessly linked with our Clarksville office by technology.

Batson Nolan is a law firm, and it is a member of the business community, and as such, our attorneys understand our community and are a part of the business and civic life.   We have had the pleasure of having one of our former partners and one of our current partners, Dan Nolan,  serve as President of the Tennessee Bar Association.  Dan Nolan is certified as Rule 31 mediator by the State of Tennessee and serves as a mediator in civil and commercial matters across the state.

Clarksville is the fifth largest city in the State, and is located 40 minutes northwest of Nashville, Davidson County, and only 20 minutes from Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky.  Our community is home to Fort Campbell Army Base and the 101st Airborne Division, and several other attached and tenant units.  Fort Campbell is located in Tennessee and Kentucky, and several of our attorneys are licensed in both states.   Our geographic practice area is predominantly Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

Batson Nolan is committed to professional excellence.  We have embraced technology, and state-of-the-art equipment essential to the representation of our clients.  We recognize that our people are the key to its growth and continued success.  Our lawyers are dedicated to the practice of law and understand the importance of communication with our clients.  Batson Nolan is listed in Best's Directory of Insurance Attorneys and the Firm is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and listed in Hubbell's Bar of Preeminent Lawyers.

We represent clients in Tennessee and Kentucky, in business, banking and commercial matters, real estate, family law, estate planning, probate, and general civil litigation, including insurance defense, professional negligence defense, civil rights and employment defense litigation.  We have a criminal defense section with attorneys practicing in Tennessee and Kentucky and representing clients in state and federal court criminal matters and at Fort Campbell, in Uniform Code of Military Justice matters.

Batson Nolan has a diverse client base, including governmental entities, banks, individual clients, medical practices, and insurance companies.  We advise new business owners and professionals concerning starting their new business and are with them through all phases and business operations.  We understand that life and business do not stand still and legal services can be provided by any number of licensed attorneys and fine law firms.  We believe our commitment to a mutually fulfilling relationship with a client makes all the difference.
