Biography
Shelby was born and raised in Robertson County where she graduated from Jo Byrns High School. For her undergraduate studies, Shelby attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. During her time at Martin, Shelby served as President and Founder of the UT Martin Legal Society, Senator for the Student Government Association, and an active member of the Church of Christ Student Center. During her Junior Year, she was selected for the Tennessee Legislative Internship Program where she spent her spring semester on Capitol Hill. Shelby graduated magna cum laude, as the inaugural member of the Legal Studies 3 + 3 program at UT Martin.
For law school, Shelby attended the University of Tennessee College of Law. She graduated with a concentration in Business Transactions after completing courses in Estate Planning, Real Estate, Tax and Business Law. During her time in law school, Shelby served as the Editor for the Race Gender and Social Justice Journal and was an active member in the Law Women organization and the Christian Legal Society. She discovered her passion for Estate Planning while serving the community as a student attorney with the Wills Clinic, where she provided pro bono legal services to clients.
During her time in law school, Shelby served as a law clerk for Batson Nolan PLC in the Springfield Office. After graduation, she joined the firm as an Associate Attorney where her primary areas of practice are Estate Planning, Probate, Business and Property Law. Shelby was also awarded the prestigious Charles H. Miller Excellence in Civil Advocacy Award for estate planning from the UT College of Law.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching true crime shows and legal dramas, and cheering on the Vols with her husband Dylan.
